Concept | Raise $8 to buy a burrito from a local Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurant. Record the burrito’s flavor by creating an infographic- allowing this project fall into the Design category.
Project Outcome | In its 30 day time frame, the campaign raised over $1,050. The success rate had set a new Kickstarter.com record of 13,398%
Within 24 hours, the $8.00 goal was met through donations from the KickStarter community.
In response to the high interest, the original graph was completed and shown in video format.
This ensured more exposure and support by creating a dynamic, real-time narrative.
As the funding continued to increase, new stretch goals were added and achieved.
Video updates and email blasts were added to bump up activity rates during slow weekend days.
These updates continued to give the project relevance in the public sphere, and allowed the project to be influenced by its supporters.
The project concluded with the results of the ‘Deliciousness of a Chicken Burrito when consumed during a Skydive.’
This outlandish goal was inspired by the feedback and commentary of the community that grew in support of the project.
In mid-March a video for the burrito skydive was released, accompanied by a new infographic.
In its 30 day time frame, the campaign had surpassed its goal.
As a result of the projects’s success, the skydiving field test was completed on March 15th, 2014.
Skydive Milwaukee enthusiastically reached out during the early weeks of the project, and facilitated all of the necessary means to conduct the test.
